APPROACH
Research shows that students are more motivated when two things are present: a personal connection to the content and the confidence that their teacher cares about them as a whole individual. That’s why our first priority is getting to know your child — not just as a student, but as a person.
During our first session, we’ll have a simple, low-pressure conversation where we learn about your child’s interests, likes and dislikes, and their perspectives on school. This foundation allows us to create a customized plan tailored to what genuinely engages and motivates them.
From there, we choose activities and approaches that help your child see themselves as capable, confident learners. Whether it’s through theater games, comic books, or video games, we find creative ways to make academic content feel relevant, approachable, and real. When learning connects to their world, it stops feeling like a chore — and starts to feel like it matters.
From there I will choose activities and approaches that will help your child to see themselves as capable, confident learners. I often use theater games, comic books, and video games as a means to spark your child's interest in schoolwork that they'd previously considered dry and impersonal. By bringing the content to their reality it becomes much more tangible, interesting, and accessible. Suddenly, learning is relevant to them.
